Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines

1. Keep Reports Accurate and Useful

• Submit reports that accurately reflect what you observed or reasonably believe occurred.
• Provide clear descriptions, dates, locations, and supporting details whenever possible.
• Do not submit fabricated encounters, spam, jokes, intentionally misleading information, or knowingly false reports.

2. Intellectual Honesty

The Atlas is built upon objective research. Whenever possible, distinguish between direct observations and personal interpretations. Clearly identifying what was observed versus what is believed helps preserve the long-term research value of the Atlas.

3. No Harmful or Illegal Content

• No threats, harassment, intimidation, or abusive conduct.
• No posting of personal, confidential, or identifying information about others without permission.
• No encouragement of trespassing, vandalism, poaching, property damage, or other unlawful activity.

4. Protect Data Integrity

• Do not submit false information intended to influence Atlas analysis, clusters, hotspots, or statistical results.
• Do not automate submissions or interfere with Atlas performance.
• Do not attempt unauthorized access to administrative or restricted areas.
• Do not create duplicate accounts to manipulate research data.
• Future submissions made through Atlas field applications, including offline data collection tools, are subject to these same standards.

Accounts found to be intentionally submitting false information, duplicate reports, automated submissions, fraudulent content, or attempting to manipulate Atlas data may be suspended or permanently terminated without refund.

5. Review and Moderation

Submissions may undergo automated processing, manual review, or both before being incorporated into the Atlas.

DayStalkers may request clarification, standardize information, classify reports, adjust locations to protect privacy, delay publication, or decline publication when necessary to preserve research quality and database integrity.

Access to the Atlas may be limited, suspended, or terminated for repeated abuse, fraud, manipulation attempts, or violations of these guidelines.

6. Research Use

The Atlas is intended for research, educational, historical preservation, and investigative purposes.

Submitted material may contribute to historical preservation, statistical analysis, geographic modeling, pattern analysis, newsletters, publications, educational material, Project Cryptanthropus research resources, and future analytical tools.

Atlas visualizations, rankings, hotspot analysis, movement corridors, probability models, habitat analysis, and related outputs are investigative tools designed to assist research. They should not be interpreted as verified biological evidence, confirmed wildlife tracking, or guaranteed activity predictions.

7. Geographic Information

To protect privacy, private property, environmentally sensitive areas, and ongoing investigations, published locations may be generalized, rounded, delayed, or otherwise adjusted.

Exact coordinates submitted by contributors may not always be displayed publicly.

8. Appeals

If you believe your submission was declined or modified in error, you may contact DayStalkers and provide additional supporting information for further review. Decisions may be reconsidered when new evidence becomes available.

9. Changes to These Guidelines

These Community Guidelines may be updated periodically as the Bigfoot Atlas and Project Cryptanthropus continue to evolve. Continued use of the Atlas constitutes acceptance of the most current version.
